We’re excited to announce that we will be offering a working learning series for Sexual Violence Awareness Month. We hope you join us in these important conversations to learn about sexual violence and learn what you can do to help. 

All of our workshops 1.5 hours and are free of charge, reflective and interactive.  They are currently being hosted online using the Zoom platform.

1.5 HOURS ONLINE WORKSHOP – By Calgary Communities Against Sexual Abuse (CCASA)

ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP

Online and interactive workshop that will help you engage in conversations about the complexities of sexual assault.

This workshop covers the realities and complexities of sexual assault as well as how to provide – and the importance of providing – positive and supportive responses to people impacted by sexual assault.

During this workshops we will explore:

  • The facts about sexual violence
  • Tools for supporting others
  • Language for talking about sexual assault 
  • The root causes of sexual violence its impacts

What else?

You will learn how sexual assault can impact individual and leave feeling more confident on your ability to respond to a disclosure in a positive and supportive way.

Who will benefit from these workshops?

Anyone! This workshop is intended for anyone wanting to know more about Sexual Violence and how to be supportive. Even those with some experience already.

It’s time to talk about true prevention. In this workshop, we explore the harmful history of safety tips and focus instead on effective strategies for sexual violence prevention.

Participants will gain an understanding of:

  • The impact of ‘safety tips’ and a new prevention lens
  • The difference between sexual assault prevention and sexual assault avoidanceal assault can impact individual and leave feeling more confident on your ability to respond to a disclosure in a positive and supportive way.

Anyone! This workshop is intended for anyone wanting to know more about Sexual Violence and how to be apart of the solution. Even those with some experience already.

ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP

Online and interactive workshop that will introduce you to the topic of child sexual abuse.

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Describe what child sexual abuse is
  • Identify at least 3 facts about child sexual abuse
  • Describe the importance of knowing and using key messages when receiving disclosures

Who should attend this workshop?

This workshop is intended for anyone looking for introductory knowledge regarding child sexual abuse and how to respond to disclosures.

1.5 HOURS ONLINE WORKSHOP – By Calgary Communities Against Sexual Abuse (CCASA)

ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP

This workshop is for anyone who is interested in being a part of the ever-growing conversation about men and masculinity. We will delve into the reasons that men are responsible for the majority of sexual violence with a close examination of societal standards and expectations of masculinity. Participants will gain the tools to identify, critique, and intervene in the harmful messages about masculinity that contribute to sexual violence.

Who will benefit from these workshops?

Anyone! This workshop is intended for anyone wanting to know more about Sexual Violence and and the standards and expectations of masculinity. How do I attend the workshop? This workshop will take place using the conferencing platform Zoom, and the link and password will be sent out 24 hours in advance of the workshop. The workshop is interactive. We strongly encourage all individuals accessing the workshop to have a computer/laptop that enables them to see video, hear audio, and have microphone access.
