Kari White is the Director of Clinical Services at CCASA. She holds a BSW and MSW from the University of Calgary as well as a BA in Psychology from St. Francis Xavier University. Prior to her work with CCASA, Kari worked in income support and domestic violence. Kari has been a part of CCASA’s growth and the development of specialized supports in the area of sexual violence for over 20 years. During this time she has developed a broad range of skills, having held front line and supervisory roles in crisis support, education, and counselling. Having the opportunity to work in a number of roles has deepened her recognition of the resilience and strength of individuals and communities, and her belief in their inherent capacity to heal. She is passionate about ensuring those affected by sexual violence have access to specialized, trauma-informed support and counselling services and a safe space to feel seen and heard. In recent years, Kari has focused on mentoring and supporting new counsellors and other helping professionals in developing their skills and capacity to support individuals and communities affected by sexual violence.
